ISP Field Engineer (Rigger)

Location: Port Moresby & Lae | Department: Remington Group – ISP Division

Overview:
We’re on the lookout for a skilled ISP Field Engineer to join our team in Port Moresby. This hands-on role focuses on the installation, maintenance, and repair of internet tower infrastructure and related equipment. You’ll work at heights, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and help bring reliable internet services to businesses and homes.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install and maintain tower components: antennas, cables, radios, etc.
  • Survey and plan installation sites.
  • Ensure high safety standards while working on towers.
  • Configure and test network equipment (Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Huawei, Cisco, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate site documentation and logs.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure optimal signal strength and minimal downtime.

What You’ll Need:

  • Grade 12 Certificate; technical training in rigging/networking preferred.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Must hold a valid Class 3 driver’s license.
  • Strong physical fitness and willingness to work at heights and in all weather.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and knowledge of tools, cabling (CAT5, Fiber), and radio tech (PTP, PTMP).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, Cacti) is a plus.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role, delivering enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong technical skills across:
    • Virtualisation: VMware vSphere, vSAN, Microsoft Hyper-V.
    • Storage & Compute: HPE Server & Storage, Cisco UCS, HCI solutions.
    • Data Protection: (Veeam cloud backup, tape library)
  • Experience designing, planning, and delivering data protection solutions using various strategies and products.
  • Certifications in VMware, HPE (highly regarded).
  • Strong ability to scope, create, and present IT technology solutions to customers.
  • Proficiency in cloud computing and automation tools (PowerShell).

Mitel Voice Engineer

We are looking for a Mitel Voice Engineer who will be responsible for the designing, deployment, and maintaining a robust unified communication solutions. The successful candidate will manage MiVoice Business, MiCollab, and MiContact Center (MiCC) environments, resolve complex escalations, and deliver high-availability VoIP infrastructure for enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document Mitel VoIP architectures, call flows, IVR configurations, and call routing to align with business requirements.
  • Configure and upgrade MiVoice Business platforms, MiVoice Border Gateways, and associated telecommunications hardware.
  • Troubleshoot advanced unified communications issues and open/manage Tier 3 tickets with Mitel’s Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather telecom needs and optimize contact center performance.

Key requirements, qualifications and skills for the role:

  • A Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Active Mitel certifications required (e.g., MiVoice Business, MiCollab, or MiContact Center).
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated telecommunications experience focusing heavily on Mitel enterprise solutions.
  • Strong understanding of VoIP, SIP trunking, QoS (Quality of Service), and Contact Center reporting.
  • Exceptional diagnostic skills and ability to thrive in rapidly changing unified communications environments.
